Speech and Language Therapy
We have two Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) that are based at the school one day each week. Therapists work alongside teachers and class teams to support pupils develop effective communication strategies. They will support pupils to develop their use of communication systems such as PECs, iPads and AAC devices as well as Makaton and expressive communication strategies. Therapists set individual targets based on EHC Outcomes and will work with teachers to develop strategies to support pupils achieve those outcomes. Targets are reviewed and updated on a termly basis.

Our Occupational Therapist (OT) works here one day a week. The therapist support class teams to develop sensory diets for those who need them and to work on EHC Physical and Sensory EHC targets. The OT will set targets and implement strategies which are then reviewed each term.
Our Music Therapist who works at the school one day a week. Music Therapy is for small groups or individual pupils to help them explore and express feelings and emotions. Our Assistant Headteachers liaise closely with the therapist and families to share outcomes from each session.
We have one Art Therapist who works at the school one day a week. The therapist works with individual pupils to help them explore the emotional regulation and resilience. Short termly reports are written to document progress made towards goals and sessions typically last for 1 – 2 terms.
