RE Curriculum Statement
The RE Curriculum at Spa Camberwell is adapted from the agreed syllabus from SACRE, in order to match the needs of our pupils. RE lessons are part of KS1 Topic lessons and KS2 and KS3 Humanities curriculum.
We explore significant celebrations, religions and beliefs. Lessons develop students’ understanding of their own beliefs, and the beliefs of others. They develop understanding of themselves as individuals. Through the use of engaging, creative and sensory activities, students learn to value and respect differences and similarities. Students learn about the different faith groups represented in Southwark and the world beyond.
Students learn about values and traditions across a range of religions and cultures and consider these in relation to themselves and their world, such as their family, school and their community.
We develop and celebrate our sense of community through weekly assemblies and other whole school events.
